A Local San Antonio Shop for Coating & Blasting

Mission Trail Powder Coating & Blasting is a local shop serving San Antonio and the surrounding area. We powder coat metal parts, gates, fences, railings, patio furniture, wheels and automotive parts, and we sandblast, dustless-blast, media-blast and industrial-blast to strip paint, rust and old coatings back to clean metal. From a single set of wheels to a production run of brackets, we treat every job the same: honest advice on the right process, careful prep, a clear quote and on-time pick-up.

Most powder coating starts with blasting so the finish bonds to bare metal. Our dustless and mobile blasting comes to your home, ranch or job site for brick paint removal, graffiti, pools, driveways, boats and large items. Industrial work preps structural steel, heavy equipment and fleets to near-white metal. Whatever you bring us, we'll tell you straight whether coating, blasting or both is the right call.

About the Company

We started this shop because San Antonio has always had a strong tradition of metalwork — wrought iron gates, railings, security doors, custom trucks and project cars — and that metal takes a beating from the sun, hail and hard water here. We wanted a local place that does the prep right, explains the process in plain English, and stands behind the finish.

That's still how we work. We look at the job before we quote it, blast to clean metal, coat with care, and get your parts back to you on time. No pressure, no surprises on the bill.

Powder Coating vs Paint

A cured powder finish is thicker and tougher than most spray paint. Because the powder is melted and flowed in an oven, it forms a continuous coat that resists chips, scratches and sun-fading better than paint, and it contains no solvents. That makes it a strong choice for metal that lives outdoors or gets handled — gates, railings, wheels, patio furniture and equipment.

Paint still makes sense in some cases: quick touch-ups, items that can't go in an oven, or colors and effects that are easier to spray. For most metal that needs to last in the Texas sun, though, powder coating is the better long-term answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between powder coating and paint?

Powder coating is a dry finish: powder is sprayed with an electrostatic charge, then cured in an oven so it flows into a hard, even coat. It goes on thicker than most spray paint, resists chips and sun-fading better, and contains no solvents. Paint still makes sense for some items and quick touch-ups, but for metal that lives outdoors or takes a beating, a cured powder finish usually holds up longer.

Do you come to my home, ranch or job site?

Yes. Dustless and mobile blasting is done on-site at your home, business, ranch, job site or yard — great for brick paint removal, graffiti, pools, driveways, boats and large items that can't come to the shop. Powder coating itself is cured in an oven, so the coating is done in the shop; the blasting and prep can be done on-site, and we talk through drop-off, pick-up or delivery when you book.

How do I get a quote?

Call us or send a request through the quote form. Tell us what you need coated or blasted, how big it is, and the finish you want. Photos help a lot — let us know if you can text a few. We look at the job and give you a clear, honest quote. Same-day estimates may be available.
